Award Underscores Ongoing Partnership to Produce Qualified Health Care Professionals

WEST COVINA, Calif.—North-West College (NWC) recently presented Keck Medical Center of USC with the 2014 Distinguished Clinical Partner Award. The honor emphasizes the long-time clinical partnership between the College and the hospitals, comprised of Keck Hospital of USC and USC Norris Cancer Hospital.

As a clinical partner, Keck Medical Center of USC provides hands-on learning opportunities for NWC students during the clinical portion of many programs. In turn, the hospitals receive additional help from the college’s students which ultimately impacts patient satisfaction in a positive way.

North-West College President Mitchell Fuerst presented the award to North-West College alumnus Scott Evans, PharmD, MHA, who currently serves as CEO of Keck Hospital of USC and USC Norris Cancer Hospital.

“The USC health system has hired our graduates, rotated our students in many areas of the clinical setting, as well as partnered with our College to develop specialized training programs,” Fuerst said.

Evans highlighted the hospital’s ongoing commitment to working with North-West College and its students. “We want to continue to provide opportunities for students to grow, learn, and train,” he said. “Together, we can develop students who transform the world of health care, because we know that it’s not just about saving lives, but impacting them.”
