Medical Surgical Technologies The Surgical Technology program is designed to instruct in all phases of Surgical Technology. Upon completion, the graduate can effectively work with and under the supervision of surgeons or registered nurses and become an integral part of the team providing care to patients during the crucial periods of surgery. Much of the training is focused on the clinical aspect of the program where the students gain skills in helping set up the operating room, prepare patients for surgery, pass instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons, scrub, gown, help care for and dispose of specimens, and assist nurses in cleaning and stocking the operating room for the next operation.

Medical Assistant The Medical Assistant program is designed to give the student knowledge, skills, and techniques needed to function in the medical office or clinic settings. Students receive education for entry-level positions in Administrative Assisting, Clinical Assisting, and general education in anatomy and physiology and other aspects of medical assisting as dictated by this College and the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). The student also receives entry-level skills in computer use that are integrated in the administrative components of the program. |

Licensed Vocational Nurse The Licensed Vocational Nursing program provides students with the theory, laboratory and clinical experiences that will serve as preparation for an entry-level position in Licensed Vocational Nursing. Nursing theory guides clinical practice. The clinical portion of the program provides students with actual hands-on experience providing nursing care to patients of all ages, ethnic and cultural groups, and stages of wellness/illness in hospitals and other health care agencies affiliated with Glendale Career College. In addition, the clinical atmosphere will enable the student to observe first-hand the behaviors that are crucial to employability in those agencies. |

Medical/Dental Billing The Medical/Dental Office Management program will train the student in the knowledge, skills, and techniques needed to function in the medical or dental front office, hospital, or medical clinic. The student will receive theory and business laboratory instruction in medical billing, computer literacy, business math, medical and dental terminology, customer service, and office machines. There is both supervised simulated work experience and an optional externship included in this program. |
